Personalize your home office or desk. This is easy when you sew. All sorts of sewing projects are suitable for home offices. Here are some ideas and pattern suggestions.

A fashionable memo/bulletin board is a fun sewing project. It offers a place to store notes, messages, and other timely items. Photos can also be posted on memo boards.

Those who sew can create attractive storage options for the home office. These items include fabric in-boxes and letter trays, fabric-lined crates and boxes, fabric covered boxes, lined baskets, fabric file totes and file folders.

To provide privacy in a home office when the room has an open floor plan, use a folding screen. This can lend a fashionable touch to a work area. Cover the screen with an attractive fabric. Coordinate the material so it matches the other items in the home office.

There is no shortage of sewing patterns for home offices. These are available from various sources. Butterick pattern 4043 is a Waverly design. It features a complete desk/home office ensemble. McCall’s Home Decorating pattern M5074 is a collection of several items that will be of interest to those with a home office. This includes a three-panel folding screen. It also has several large crates and storage totes that would serve beautifully in the home office. This ensemble has lamp covers in three different sizes. There are also patterns for an assortment of attractive cushions in a range of styles and sizes.

Though Simplicity Craft pattern 9440 is now out of print, it is still available online from different sources. This lovely ensemble is by designer Donna Lang. It features a beautiful memo/bulletin board with coordinating photo frames in a range of styles and sizes. This pattern has basket liners as well. There are designs for six styles and sizes of baskets. Some of these baskets have lids. One is suitable for an in/out tray. This pattern also has file totes and file folders in several different sizes.
