Sew useful garden organizers, such as vests, smocks, aprons, hanging organizers, and bucket organizers.

Every gardener needs a set of garden organizers. These are used for storing gardening aids, supplies, seeds, and hand tools. Here are some project ideas and suggested garden organizer patterns.

These garden garments feature numerous pockets for storing things. This allows gardeners to get organized before they head out to the garden, thus avoiding needless trips back and forth fetching things. These garments should be loose fitting.

Simplicity pattern 4597 has a garden vest as well as a full and half garden apron. Other sewing patterns for aprons or smocks can be used as well. Add additional pockets if necessary.

Four Corners Designs has a roomy smock pattern called the Sensational Smock, which is recommended for gardening. This has a complete range of sizes for all ages—from children and youth to Misses Small to XL.

Bucket Organizers for Gardeners

Bucket organizers are a handy way for gardeners to store and carry gardening seeds, trowels, and other items.

These are easy to sew. Several of these patterns are available. They’re designed to fit around the outside of plastic pails. Hand tools and larger items can be stowed inside the bucket.

Simplicity pattern 4232 and McCall’s pattern 4858 include organizers for various sizes of buckets and pails.

McCall’s pattern 4274 also includes a bucket organizer. It features several rows of pouches around the lower portion of the bucket. This pattern also has a padded cover for the bucket lid, which allows you to sit while weeding, etc.

Hanging Organizers for Gardeners

Hanging organizers are ideal for storing seeds and other garden items. All of the major pattern companies have suitable garden organizer patterns.

McCall’s pattern M5441 was originally designed for cooks. However, this would be just as useful for gardeners. It has four different styles of organizers, all of which have numerous pouches for storing small items.

You can also use organizer patterns originally designed for closets. Of the six versions in McCall’s pattern 8260, four of these are especially helpful to gardeners. They have a number of pouches in assorted sizes and shapes. All sorts of gardening items can be stored in them, including hand tools.

Butterick pattern 4043 offers several storage options for gardeners. This stylish, home office ensemble has a lovely memo board, which could be used for storing garden seeds and garden memos. In addition to the memo board, this has patterns for wonderful storage boxes, which are suitable for storing garden records and small gardening items.
