Sew Stylish, sister magazine to Threads magazine is going to cease publication with the December 2007 issue.
This is a shame. Not least because they took a subscription to the magazine from me only a short while before they made the announcement. In the statement explaining the decision, they do say that they will be in touch with subscribers, so we’ll see what they say.
I was enjoying the magazine, as I know others were. I felt it was particularly well suited to people just starting the craft. It was focusing at a slightly different sewer to Threads, but perhaps getting advertising support for two magazines was too much of a challenge.
I enjoy Threads magazine, so I am glad that this is continuing in publication. The BeSewStylish website is also still up and running, along with the free ‘how to sew’ guide which is very useful for novice sewers. The newsletter is also still being published and this too can be signed up for on the BeSewStylish website.
Magazines are a great way to keep in touch with what is going on in the world of sewing and needlework. I try not to get too many – or to join too many online groups, as the danger is I can spend so long reading, I get little time for doing! Even so, I just can't help myself when I see something interesting. Another problem is that information overload leads to too many ideas!! Before I know it, my mind is racing through potential next projects, without being able to settle on one!
