Capes are quick and easy to make and are essential to complete a ghoulish outfit.
Capes are an extremely versatile garment, great for wearing in the cooler fall evenings and also a staple part of any costume outfit. A cape and a bit of imagination will turn a simple outfit into that of a vampire, wizard or ghoul.
Many fabrics such as fleece and felt do not fray meaning that they require minimum sewing. However if a bit of sewing does not worry you then there are loads of great projects on the internet explaining how to make great capes. Capes are also great for everyday wear. Light draping fabrics give a garment with a floaty feel, heavier and denser fabrics will not hang so well but will be warmer and more hard wearing. There is something glamorous about a cape and they are not just for Halloween wear!
